The Grown Man’s Grooming Guide: A Simple Routine That Actually Works

Achieving a look thats cohesive and well put together doesn’t require an actual bathroom counter full of hygiene products. A few basic habits, along with consistent maintenance, make all the difference.
There comes a point when grooming should be part of a man's everyday routine, not just something you do occasionally before a date night, job interview, special event, or night out. Taking care of yourself is a simple part of being a grown, well-groomed, defined man.
This doesn't mean that you have to follow a complex 12-step skin care routine or spend hundreds of dollars every month on men's hygiene products.
Good grooming is about consistency, clean skin, maintained facial hair, healthy hair, trimmed nails, fresh breath, and a signature scent that makes you feel more refined and polished.
The goal is not perfection; it’s maintaining good grooming.
Your face is a central focal point that most people notice, yet skincare is an area many men overcomplicate or ignore.
Keep it simple
Start with a gentle gel face cleanser instead of being reliant on whatever bar of soap happens to be in your shower. Wash your face in the morning and again before bed, especially after sweating or after being active outdoors.
Follow up with a face moisturizer appropriate for your skin type, such as oily, dry, or sensitive. Men with oily skin would prefer a lightweight moisturizer; a good one is CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Creme, which is lightweight, nourishing, and fragrance-free. Men with dry skin would benefit from a richer formula of moisturizer. Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream works well for dry or sensitive skin.
Your basic routine can be as straightforward as:
Cleanse: Wash away sweat, oil, dirt, and buildup.
Moisturize: Keep your skin hydrated and comfortable.
Protect: Apply sunscreen during the daytime.
Maintain: Exfoliate occasionally if your skin tolerates it, rather than aggressively scrubbing every day.
That's it. You don't need a shelf full of products to start taking better care of your skin.
